Steroids

05 Jun 2025

Hi-Ground, a program of QuIVAA and a member organisation of AIVL have released a harm reduction resource for people who use steroids and performance enhancing drugs. This resource booklet was developed by people with lived-living experience, peer educators, clinicians, and researchers. It is for the community, by the community, blending peer harm reduction knowledge with research and clinical insight.

This peer-developed and written resource is the first of its kind in Australia. It reflects what happens when peer-led initiatives, community wisdom, and translational research come together to create something that actually works for people.

Inside the booklet, you will find:
💉 Safer injecting practices
📈 Understanding half-life & pharmacokinetics
🧠 Health monitoring
🧪 Blood tests
💬 Women’s experiences
📊 Unregulated market data
🧭 Peer pathways to support and care

Did you know the Steroid QNECT program at QuIVAA also has a free phoneline where a peer educator can answer any of your questions about steroids and provide you with harm reduction information and support?
